I wrote about this for one of my MBA assignments and thought I would rewrite a less formal version for this month's newsletter.
One of the key things I realised as I did my research on this subject is that most clients who come to me come with a problem or pain point; very often, realise that part of the solution is identifying that fundamental issue isn’t the actual problem they bring but something entirely different.
Riding the Wave of AI in Coaching and Consulting
So, you know how the Terminator always said, "I'll be back"? Well, AI is kind of like that - it's back, and it's making waves in the coaching and consulting world. But is it a friend or a foe? Let's dive in and find out!
AI: Friend or Foe?
AI is getting smarter daily, changing the game for coaches and consultants. It offers cool stuff like automation and data-driven insights but also raises questions about the value of good old human interaction and problem-solving skills.
Understanding the Threat: Taking a Closer Look
Using fancy models like PESTEL, I dug into the potential threats. Political changes are shaking things up, with governments cutting back on consultant spending. And economic factors are pushing clients towards cheaper AI solutions. Plus, Tech is advancing fast, showing us just how much AI can do. But hey, let's not forget the human touch! IA can’t really recognise patterns and utilise empathy.
Adapting to Change
Let's talk about what coaches and consultants really do. We're all about empowering clients to crush their goals. And sure, AI can help with some stuff, but there's nothing like a real human cheering you on and guiding you through the tough stuff.
Signals of Change
I’ve been keeping an eye on things, and there are definitely some signals of change. People seem to be feeling a bit iffy about the industry, and we've noticed more consultants jumping ship from the public to the private sector. But I’m not sweating it – I’m staying proactive and showing my clients why they need us.
Embracing the Future
In a nutshell, AI brings both opportunities and threats. But as long as we stay true to our roots, our values and keep that human connection alive, we'll be just fine. So let's ride the wave of AI, adapt to the changes, and keep empowering our clients to be their best selves!
